USB fridge?

USB ports are becoming more useful nowadays. So many gadgets which are powered by USB ports are created lately. One of it is the USB powered mini-fridge that I found while surfing geeks.com. This mini-fridge can hold one 12 ounce can(the normal size) at a time. It is so small and cool looking.

It is similar to other USB powered gadgets which have the plug and play feature.

Looking at the price of this mini-fridge which is $13.99 (around RM 46.00), I thought of getting one but unfortunately the shipping cost is much higher than the product itself. It was around $41 USD(the cheapest option available). So, what to do? No choice other than canceling the idea of purchasing and hoping that it will be available in Malaysia. If you guys know where to get it cheaply, just shoot a comment down here and share with others.

New breed of rechageable batteries-USBcell

Do you know that there are rechargeable batteries that can be charged through USB ports?. Yup you read it right,… USB ports. Well, it has been introduced two years back in 2006 by a UK based company. This batteries known as USBcell is very similar to the normal NiMH batteries and can be used on most battery operated devices. This unique batteries can also be charged using the normal chargers.

The capacity of USBCELL is 1300mAH – this is greater than some ordinary NiCadand NiMH batteries. Some new high-capacity NiMH batteries can go up to 2500mAH. However, with USBCELL you can simply recharge or top-up by plugging into a USB port rather than going off to find a wall charger and adaptor.

Furthermore, these batteries are also quite cheap. It only costs around RM 50.00(US dollar?$17.00) for a pack of two and after including shipping charges it is about RM 62.00. For more info visit usbcell.com.
